As many of you know, Stan Barry resigned his position as Sheriff of Fairfax County effective July 1, 2013. His resignation has necessitated a special election, which will be held on November 5, 2013. I have been approached by numerous people and groups, inquiring about my intentions with regard to the 2013 ballot and so I thought I would take this opportunity to share my plans with you.
At the conclusion of the November 2011 election, I decided to devote the same level of determination, vigor and commitment to the growth of my business, Cooper Process Service, LLC, that I had tirelessly devoted to my campaign. I am proud that now, nearly two years after the conclusion of the 2011 election, my company has grown tremendously, and offers high-quality service to numerous law firms in the Northern Virginia area. Stan Barry’s early resignation, while not all that surprising to me in light of the information that was revealed during the campaign, has not changed my plans. I do not intend to seek the nomination for the Republican ticket for the special election of Sheriff in November 2013, and will instead continue to devote my energies to my burgeoning business endeavor.
That said, I still care very deeply for the men and women of the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Department, and for the safety and security of our community. I continue to set my sights on the 2015 election for Sheriff, and am enthused and inspired by the overwhelming show of support that I have received in the last several weeks when my intentions regarding this upcoming election were largely unknown. I ask that all of you keep in touch with me, and contact me to discuss issues related to the Sheriff’s Department and the safety of our community, at any time. Thanks again to all of you for your continuing support.
The Cooper for Sheriff campaign is grateful for the support that we are receiving from members of the Fairfax County Sheriff's Department, Police Department and Fire & Rescue.
